Christal shares what she learned about herself during her family trip this past week – How standup comedy has been her greatest outlet & Why being offended is such a waste of time!
So this week, Andrew and I took 21 of our family members to Costa Rica.
Yes, you read that right. TWENTY-ONE! Before you get freaked out, I want you to know that WE HAD A BLAST. Here are three things I learned about me and my family:
We are VERY passionate creatures (ride-or-dies I’d call it) we talk loud and proud. Very opinionated with different views about the world BUT have one thing in common… we’d be there at the drop of a hat for each other.
We love to party. Give us a cocktail and some music… we are OFF till the wee hours of the mornings. I actually just thought it was me but nope. I come from generations of people who love to celebrate, which definitely makes life exciting
SIDE NOTE: Andrew never likes going dancing with me because he KNOWS it’s going to be an all night event. So I take what I can get.
We LOVE adventure. One of the highlights of my trip was being able to see my 78 year old grandma fulfill one of her bucket lists… ZIP LINING… and not just any zip lining… Zip lining through the JUNGLE!
I’ve actually never seen her so happy. I mean we did a shit ton of activities this week, like a private catamaran tour, white water rafting, horse back riding, and of course zip lining. But there was something about seeing her swinging through the jungle that really made me think about what’s most important.
In fact, I did A LOT of reflection this trip. Let’s be real, there’s a lot of personalities in one house that there’s bound to be SOME kinda drama right?
Not bad drama but you know what I’m talking about… you have family. But why was I spending majority of the time reflecting on myself?
But what I mean is, interacting with so many personalities is really an opportunity to see how you participate with the relationships around you. It’s like holding a mirror to yourself, and guess what?
As a relationship coach who (hopefully) someone who helps you all with how to manage the relationships around you, I also struggle. I to be quite honest, I didn’t like what I saw this week….
You got a minute? Let’s discuss! You might even be the MY coach.
In today’s episode I discuss what I learned about myself this past week and why stand up comedy is my SHIZZZZZ these days. You’ll know why after.
PS: COMMENT your insights, “Ah-has” OR tips you got for me. Like I said, you might be my coach.
