Lemon Water

Why is it beneficial to start your day with warm lemon water?!

Your body has just undergone a 7-8 hour fast while sleeping. During that time, it is detoxing and regenerating itself. The natural byproduct of detoxing are potential accumulated toxins in the body. According to a naturopathic doctor, Dr. Robert Morse in his book “The Detox Miracle Sourcebook,” he states lemons are one of natures greatest lymphatic cleansers and “tumor busters!” By the way, this is a fantastic book by an extremely knowledgeable doctor regarding how to truly heal and regenerate the body when afflicted any number of diseases/ailments-highly recommend!

Warm lemon water helps to stimulate the digestive system and might prompt a trip to the bathroom. This is a good thing because again, you want your body to rid itself of any toxins stirred around while sleeping! Lemons are naturally high in vitamin C which of course is great for immunity. And this may be the most important benefit: Lemons help induce an alkaline state in the body. Why is this important? A ph below the optimal 7.2 is considered acidic. An acidic environment can potentially promote disease and cancer. So the closer to 7.2, the better. (You can pick-up ph test strips at your local pharmacy.)

Drinking your lemon water in the morning and throughout the day is one of the cheapest and most effective ways to create alkalinity in the body!
