The 3 days and 3 ways to get your New Years off to a great start!

With 2014 right around the corner, there’s no doubt you have probably been busy with the holidays, but also knowing you, I know you have goals and there are some things you envision for the upcoming year that you’d like to achieve, right?! The problem is, goals are merely thoughts backed by “good intention,” if you don’t have three things aligned, M-B-S. No, it’s not a medical condition! It is simply Mind, Body and Spirit.

Because we only have 3 days, here are 3 things you should be doing to start 2014 with a powerful BANG!

1. MIND

PART ONE:

Get clear: Clarity is so important when you are establishing your goals. The problems I find, is people tend to create vague goals, or worse, even try to go after what they think is popular. Eg. Lose weight; get healthier; save more money etc. Getting clear means you need to become extremely specific about the things you want to achieve. Stay away from the “vague” and get into the “specifics.”

Example:

“I want to lose weight” (turns to) “I will lose 5lbs in 3months”

After you get clear, create the “action items” you are COMMITTED to in order to achieve that goal.

Example:

Lose 5lbs in 3 months – Action: 1hr of workout Mon, Wed, Friday; Create a clean eating plan for the week and allow Sunday as “cheat day;” yoga class on Saturday) etc…

PART TWO:

Clean the clutter: What, in your space, can you clean out? This week is a great time to start clearing out your home, office, car, or any other space you use regularly of the things you don’t use.

What is taking up room? Are there any old clothes you can donate? Could you give your filing cabinet a good paper shredding?

Cleaning out the clutter from your spaces isn’t just a good way to have more peace of mind, but it is also a good way to take “inventory” on the tools and items you may already have that could help you in achieving your new goals.

How many times have you purchased items you thought you needed only to find out you already bought it a while ago and it was never used? I know I’ve done it several times. A great practice is to go through your goals and action plan while you are cleaning out your space and see if you can find key tools that will help you this upcoming year.

2. BODY

It is no lie that we have all been a “little” bad with our diets this holiday season. I mean, pumpkin pies, mash potatoes, and eggnog aren’t typically on our “clean eating” plan but we have to enjoy life sometimes right?

Well, I will warn you that we are definitely going into the sick season, or what’s nationally referred to as “flu season.” Whatever you might call it, it is just our bodies way of saying,

“You overstuffed me and now I have to waste all of my energy digesting your food instead of protecting you from the bad stuff.”

Knowing this might happen; let’s start now to help our body to process the bad stuff out. These 3 days could be a good time to do a cleanse.

Now, I’m not saying you have to suffer from no food, but you could be very conscious of the foods you are putting in your body. Eating raw vegetables, vegetable smoothies and plenty of water will not only help your body to digest quicker but will also allow your body to use the energy it was meant to use to fighting foreign bacteria, which in turn, leaves you sick-less.

This was the easiest way I could explain it. Health is extremely important to me, as I believe having the right mindset is only a fraction of being able to create the life you want. If you don’t feel good, it’s hard to get into the right emotional state to achieve the things you want. So, start the New Year feeling healthy and energized!

3. SPIRIT

To achieve anything that is truly important, it needs to be aligned with your spirit, in other words, the truth of who you are.

Becoming aligned with your spirit is vital for sustainable happiness. The truth of who you are will never steer you wrong. If you can find ways to become more connected to your spirit, your life will feel effortlessly guided. Goals will turn into gifts. Gifts that you are meant to share, not just achieve.

Take time this week to look at the vision you are creating for yourself this upcoming year and see if it resonates deep within your soul. Does this vision make you excited for the person you could become? Are you falling in love with the things you could accomplish?

The answer should be nothing short of a HELL YES! If not, you are most likely not creating a vision from your truth.

There you have it! 3 ways to get you MORE than ready to achieve your goals in 3 days for 2014!
