Who are my idols? They exist here. I get to wake up to them everyday.

This year certainly hasn’t been the easiest for most but the blessings are endless. ✨This year we welcomed the greatest gift I could ever ask for. I literally wake up everyday wondering HOW THE HELL we brought an absolute angel into this world. I can go into deep thought about 🙇🏻‍♀️it but it takes away it’s magic. Today and everyday I look into Rowans eyes I’m grateful for many many MANY things, specifically all our friends and family who fill his world up with so much love. 💞

I literally wrote five potential captions for the man in this photo but nothing felt right. He’s not on IG so this isn’t a sappy post for something he’s never going to see. (But let’s be real, he still finds a way to see it... “oh so and so told me you posted..BLAH BLAH BLAH”)

Any ways, I just wanted to show some appreciation for my partner in life, father of my child and ultimate BFF... for what he is to my world and everyone around us.

In the 12 years of knowing him and 10yrs together, he has yet to compromise a speck of himself for temporary gain or to be “liked.”

He is SOLID in his truth and who he is. Reliable, trustworthy, sees the bigger picture, operates from integrity, patience and understanding.

He is child-like, joyful and loves to play! His laugh is very distinct and will instantly change your state.

There’s not a dinner that goes by where we don’t talk about something interesting, tonight it was all about humankind and the book “Sapiens.” (Never read it but got the cliff notes from him 😜)

Not a day goes by where he doesn’t shower me with love and compliments even though I may feel like a pile of dog 💩.

He wakes up every morning ready to start the day (which honestly is annoying especially before my coffee... but he makes it for me sooooo....)

We’ve pretty much grown up together but he makes me want to be better. Do better. Think better.

Thankful everyday for what he is to my life and now seeing my son reap the benefits... There’s nothing better.

Happy birthday to this special human being. I love you forever.

First time traveling since January and I’m not g

First time traveling since January and I’m not gonna lie, I was a bit anxious about it. Since Rowan was born I tend to think a lot about life and death. Something I’ve never really dwelled on before. I’ve adopted new fears and find myself trying to OVER control things.

*andrew would probably say that‘s not anything new but he’s not on IG so...😜*

Anxiety is not something I’ve struggled with in the past but something I'm experiencing now. Being a new mom definitely comes with its new sets of emotional challenges but all serve a greater purpose as long as they aren’t too consuming.

Anyway... Rowan is a traveling pro and kept looking at me like 😏, “mom I’m good and you need to chill...”

#1 tip to reduce anxiety:

Release the need to control future outcomes: As much as you’d like to be prepared so you’re not caught off guard. The future is the future and you’re not there yet. Unexpected things happen all the time. (Literally the f’ng THEME of 2020) adapting is the real strength. 🦾
